From the President

I am thrilled to introduce the return of the Salk Science & Music Series, back in-person for a eighth season on Salk’s iconic campus. Since its inception, the Institute has placed an emphasis on melding science and art in imaginative ways. From the creative, thoughtful design of our campus to the many special events held over the years showcasing artistic expression, Salk deeply values the inextricable connection of these two disciplines.

Continuing this long tradition, the Salk Science & Music Series has always amazed and inspired attendees. I am certain this season will be no different and will exceed expectations.

This season’s lineup is remarkable, featuring some of the finest instrumentalists in the world of classical music. In addition, Salk’s world-renowned scientists will lead a riveting talk about the latest, exciting discoveries being made in their labs.

Like so much of what makes Salk exceptional, the Science & Music Series history is steeped not just in talent, but also in generosity. A gifted Steinway Concert Grand #191 from the late Conrad Prebys seeded what is today a riveting program that melds cutting-edge science and world-class music.

I can’t imagine a more inspirational place to be than at Salk on these four Sunday afternoons. Please join me for what will prove to be an exhilarating season of science and music.
